Update

Jan. 1, 2026

Hello, friends of fastcore. It is now 2026. We've just had probably our busiest year as a band. Not only did we release two split records (with Grim Statistic and Crossed Comment), but we managed to tour on a continent that wasn't North America (it was Europe). All told, we performed 30 shows in 5 countries in 2025. For some professional bands, that's a drop in the bucket. But for a prohibitively expensive hobby like our band, it's the most we've ever played in a calendar year (and in our 20th year as a band). It was draining but very fulfilling. To those who were there with us, we extend our deepest thanks.

As far as touring in 2026, there are one or two things floating around that we might do, but it's safe to say we won't be nearly as busy as in 2025. For one thing, our personal lives presently preclude us from doing so. For another thing, our concentration is on writing a brand new album. We're coming up on 9 years since the recording and release of "Forbidden Techniques," and this is long overdue.

What to expect from a new HOD album? Our goal is to weave all the different styles of the band together, while staying true to our (fast)core identity, but also reaching for new places and pushing everything to a new level in a way that sounds cohesive. Simple, right?

A couple of odds and ends. We did not make any progress on the projected split 7" with Bent Sea. Some of you know Dirk (the main man behind BS) is a professional musician, and that tends to keep him busy. Maybe this year we'll get that split out! In addition to that, we might show up on a compilation or two. We'll let you know if we do.

The world sucks, but we keep on chuggin'. We hope you will too. Thanks,
Dustin, Joe and Mike

Hello! Welcome to (the beginnings of) our new website.

You may remember our old website, which was, shall we say, very simply designed. A friend kindly put it together for us for free, and we made it work for a pretty long while. Then someone forgot to pay for the URL one year, and next thing you know, no more website.

So why build a new website in 2025, you may ask, when bands chiefly use social media to communicate with fans and supporters? Well, you may have noticed that social media has become increasingly sucky, and on the verge of rendering itself obsolete. We wanted to create a repository of information about the band that stands apart from social media. Dustin has put in many long hours to create something that is not only functional, but looks cool as well. He's done an incredible job.

Be sure to bookmark this page and check back in as we add more content. Thanks for your support.
